Antonio Canova (1757–1822)
Psyche Revived by Cupid's Kiss, c. 1787–1793
Marble
Paris, Musée du Louvre, Department of Medieval, Renaissance, and Modern Sculpture.
Sculpted by Antonio Canova in the late 18th century, * Psyche revived by Cupid’s kiss * embodies the neoclassical ideal of grace and harmony. Inspired by the ancient myth, the work captures the tender moment when Eros gazes upon the awakened Psyche. The finely polished marble catches the light and lends the figures an almost lifelike softness. Canova celebrates love here, combining delicate gestures with the perfect balance of forms.

Manufacture
The embroidery designs for our brooches are exclusively imagined and created by the M&L designers. Each piece is entirely hand-embroidered using cannetille wire, following a centuries-old Indo-Pakistani embroidery technique. That is why, in 2009, we recruited our artisans in Pakistan, where we established our own embroidery workshop.
