La Maison M&L

OUR STORY

Founded in 2009 by Marie Macon and Anne-Laure Lesquoy, M&L is a French brand of embroidered accessories.

Each piece follows an uncompromising creative process. Marie Macon's pencil brings the designs to life on paper. Anne-Laure Lesquoy then launches the product conceptualisation process.

The Designers

Marie and Anne-Laure met while studying at ENSCI/Les Ateliers-Paris. For years, they worked together, carefully fulfilling the specifications entrusted to them. Until one day, their desire for freedom and to create for themselves became stronger than anything else.

The Brand

The M&L project was born out of a desire to cover up cigarette burns and, by extension, to repair cherished clothing. After meeting several embroiderers, the designers decided to bring embroidery back into fashion by offering practical, beautiful and slightly luxurious items: fashion accessories designed and manufactured like jewellery, quirky and committed.

First, to make the embroiderers they work with smile, Marie and Anne-Laure used their sense of humour and quick wit to convey their messages with lightness.

In 2009, Maison Macon&Lesquoy was born.

OUR TEAMS

Based between Granville and Paris, M&L now has 15 employees, 80 embroiderers, 300 retailers and a shop in Paris and online.

The Paris boutique

A boutique in true Parisian style, run by Mathias and Clémentine. Close to the Canal Saint-Martin, in a trendy neighborhood that has retained its “village” feel.

The showroom in Paris

A design studio and professional showroom in the heart of one of the capital's most beautiful neighborhoods, the Marais. Just behind Place des Vosges, Pierre welcomes the brand's retailers and organizes the company's commercial strategy. This is where Marie has her design office, with a wall filled with souvenirs from her travels and collaborations. She is supported by Linda for graphic design and Fabienne for communications.

The Granville workshop

M&L receives, checks, packages, and ships its creations in Lower Normandy. Stéphanie and Brice are in charge of stock. Natacha, Lola, Guillaume, and Marjorie manage the online store. Virginie and Oléna liaise with the brand's retailers on commercial and accounting matters. Anne-Laure and Aurélie take care of the administrative side of things. Anne-Laure also manages R&D alongside Anne, whom she asks to sew prototypes or finalize productions.
